After graduating from Northwestern University with a degree in healthcare economics, Bill started his career as an underwriter.

Making a transition into IT, Bill spent the next several years designing, developing and implementing insurance and healthcare applications, including new business, underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing and decision support, for key players in the Insurance IT space.  After two years as AVP, IT for a mid-sized insurance company, he set up his first consulting company and designed, sold and implemented an agency management system and provided accounting products and consulting services to a variety of small businesses.

 

Bill transitioned into sales and account management and product marketing, including time with Truven and GE Healthcare.  Most recently, Bill completed assignments in the areas of:

· Claims Process Improvement Analysis

· Underwriting Automation

· Sales and Marketing Strategy Development and Execution

· Design of clinical and operational analytics

· Wellness program ROI

· Care management process improvement

· Complete view of the patient to support population health

· Value-based payment support

· Vendor selection

· M&A due diligence.

 

With 30 years experience in insurance and healthcare IT, Bill has had the opportunity to develop an extensive knowledge of insurance and healthcare business processes, from sales through claims, and applies this knowledge in developing actionable, ROI-based solutions for his clients

Connie Sanderson                          Principal

Connie Sanderson has over 30 years of experience as a Human Resource, Learning and Development Manager at Pioneer Hi-Bred, as Director of Professional Studies at Drake University, as professor in business and technology at Des Moines Area Community College and as a private consultant.

Connie’s focus is the workforce. She maintains that employees must be allowed to bring their skills, ideas and enthusiasm to the workplace so they will be empowered to unleash their creativity. This is the point where everyone wins!

In addition to her degrees in Business Administration and Counseling Psychology, Connie has been trained in '7-Habits of Highly Effective People', 'Time Management', 'Managerial GRID', 'Changed Management', 'Personality Types', and  'Professional Coaching', to name a few. Connie has worked with organizations to introduce partnering opportunities between colleges and businesses to take advantage of free training dollars, has created a 'Certified Management Program' that was ready for enrollment and nationally certified within 6 months, and has used the CPM model to create programs for non-profits. She has been successful in securing grants and working with community investment organizations to secure funding. She is currently working with a 'Health Information Technology' grant that is preparing students in four roles needed for the transformation to 'Electronic Health Records'.  Although Connie does not believe in reinventing the wheel with every engagement, she is an expert in applying best practices while fine tuning her solutions to meet the specific needs of your business.

Connie has freely shared her expertise with many nonprofit organizations such as 'Iowa Living History Farms', 'Farm Safety for Just Kids', and 'Alzheimer’s of Iowa'. She has taught individuals from high school graduate to PhD, domestic and international, with a wide range of business and employee cultures. She will approach your business issues and employees with respect, creativity, and humor.
